It’s been a long time since our last post because we’ve been pretty busy launching new features and trying hard to help you find your next job.

Our first partnership in Portugal

As a result we’re proud to announce our first partner in Portugal: Net-Empregos. Net-Empregos now features a JobTide search form on their home page and also on every job entry, right after the job description. This simple add-on helps Net-Empregos users by giving them a chance to find other jobs easily.

A page for every listed company

Well, almost. We’re trying hard to get accurate company information for every job listing that we aggregate. Right now we’re listing more than 4,000 companies across all job categories and all locations. Easy access to company contact information means that you’ll be able to take a look at your future employer’s web site or simply contact them right away.

If you have a company look it up at our company directory or send us information so that we can add it. Also, please tell us if you find a company with incorrect or incomplete information.

Improved location based search

We’re also improving our location based search so that it returns more accurate results. This means that it doesn’t matter if you live in Faro, Lisboa or Bragança.

It should be pretty straightforward to find your next job on your home town. As a result of this improvement we’ve also added maps to company pages.

By using some common IT keywords I did a search for all IT related jobs in Portugal.

The result can be viewed in JobTide Portugal.

The following ranking is based on aggregated data from February 2006. No anti-spam or repetition analysis was performed whatsoever.

1. Net-Empregos
   
   By far the site with the most jobs (5x more than the second place). Job search, alerts and curriculum vitae submission.
2. Superemprego
   
   Job search, and lots of job related content (career advice, counseling, etc). It’s a part of the SAPO portal.
3. Expresso emprego
   
   Job search, education, career advice and entrepreneurship content. It’s a part of the Clix portal and is backed up by the popular Expresso newspaper.
4. Manpower
   
   Mainly job search with online application form. Manpower is also a temporary and contract job agency.
5. Emprego AEIOU
   
   Job search and contacts listings. It’s a part of the AEIOU portal.
6. IT Jobs
   
   IT industry only job search, IT specialized news and events and also a discussion forum.
7. Universia
   
   Job search and contacts listings. It’s a part of the Universia specialized portal for college and university students.
8. Empregoinfo
   Job listings with a search interface. It’s a part of the Portugal Index portal and web directory.
9. Naturlink
   
   Mostly nature related (biology, geology, agriculture, etc) job listings. Job search and contacts listings.
10. Hays
    
    Job search and application interface. Hays is a job agency.
